Our SLF School Choir and 6th Grade Class performed in the City of La Puente Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, 12/6. Below is a "recap" of the night as told by Mrs. Alaniz:
Everyone was well dressed with their school mass shirts, ties, and sweaters and of course...warm black bottoms with a red scarf and holiday hats. The St. Louis of France School Choir and 6th Graders were SENSATIONAL! They literally entertained the crowds for over one hour with their beautiful voices, jingle bells and recorders. They sang Christmas carols which included Let It Snow! Jingle Bells, and over 10 other songs. What amazed me more was their stamina. I know they were tired but they sang their little hearts out until the very end. TELEMUNDO was there and took several videos of our performance. Mrs. Martindale's contribution of toy soldiers and a snowman added a special touch to the event. Our St. Louis of France School crusaders banner was displayed by our front row performers who sang and danced along with that banner throughout their evening on stage. (This ways so cute to watch...as they swayed side to side, up and down...Santa Claus is Coming to Town....) The cold weather: Very cold....at one point I HAD to switch from playing piano to guitar to allow my nearly frozen fingers to keep up with the singing along crowds of both St. Louis and non-St. Louis parents. Thank you to Miss. Madrigal for her attendance and support with supervision. Mrs. Ramos with her infamous CHAMPURRADO warmed our bodies at the end of the performance....Mrs. Claus enjoyed a cup herself on the side of the stage and said: "This is good."
